Coil Cleaners
VAPCO PRODUCTS, INC has been at the forefront of most coil cleaning breakthroughs in the industry. With that being said we try to give the best instructions for using our coil cleaners ... but sometimes there isn’t enough space on the labels to cover every scenario.

Below is a list of best practices (and things to keep in mind) when cleaning coils
- We always recommend wearing safety equipment and diluting our coil cleaners with water. Never forget to fill the container with water first, then add the cleaner. This prevents you and your surroundings from accidentally getting splashed with concentrated cleaners. Our products are designed to be used with specific dilution ratios. Dilution ratios are provided for a reason. The dirtier the coil, the more concentrated the ratio should be. 3 parts water: 1 part coil cleaner is a higher concentration than 4 parts water: 1 part coil cleaner. More is not always better and won’t necessarily clean faster.
- Water is your friend when cleaning coils. Wet the ground and surrounding area before spraying the coil cleaner. Always test the cleaner on a small portion of the rooftop or surface before spraying the unit down. Likewise, water should be used when rinsing most coil cleaners, especially on alkaline and detergent coil cleaners. Any surface the cleaner touches should be rinsed thoroughly. Never leave a standing pool of solution or a pile of foam on any surface.
- Be aware of your surroundings, especially when on rooftops. Winds can blow solutions off the roof and onto other surfaces causing potential damage to areas not designed for coil cleaners. Also note areas where food, plants, animals, and the potential for human contact are before cleaning.
- When cleaning a condenser with a foaming cleaner, start at the bottom and allow the foam to build up before spraying up the coil. This will ensure that no cleaner is wasted and the excess solution doesn’t spill out onto the surface beneath the coil.
